تكاد قصة الأدب اللبناني المكتوبة باللغة الإنجليزية تكون فردية من نوعها في تاريخ الآداب العالمية، ذلك أن الظروف التي أحاطت بمولد هذا الأدب ونشأته تتسم بالخصوصية والفرادة فأعلام هذا الأدب يتميزون عن غيرهم من الأدباء الذين كتبوا بالإنجليزية وهم ليسوا أبناءها من أمثال كونراد البولندي المولد، وفيدياز سوارجير، وولي شيونكا.. ولا نكون مخطئين إذا قلنا إن هذه المحاولة الدراسية التي بين يدينا تمثل أول عرض مختصر لظاهرة من أبرز الظواهر الأدبية في القرن العشرين على صعد أدبية ثلاثة، هي الأدب اللبنانى والأبد العربي المكتوب باللغة الإنجليزية، والأدب المكتوب بالإنجليزية بوجه عام. وهي تحتوي على قسمين الأول يتحدث عن التيارات الفكرية والأدبية المعاصرة التي أثرت في أعمال أمين الريحاني، وجبران خليل جبران، وميخائيل نعيمة، أما القسم الثاني فاحتوى على دراسة أدبية نقدية ركزت على نتاجات كل من نعيمي وجبران والريحاني الإنجليزية.
