تتناول هذه البحوث مجال الاستشراق واللغة،إذ بعضها بحوث لغوية خالصة،وهي متنوعة في :الصوت والصرف والنحو والمعجم،وبعضها خاص بالاستشراق،ومثال ذلك الببحث المعنون بـ "الفصحى في الدرس اللغوي وكتب تعليم العربية عند المستشرقين الألمان،وكذلك البحث المعنون بـ "المستشرقون وتاريخ صلتهم بالعربية". شمل هذا الكتاب نظرة مقارنة على بعض أدوات المعاني في ضوء اللغات السامية ،إضافة إلى التفكير اللغوي التراثي بين التأصيل والتعليم،وكذلك تعدد الأوجه الإعرابية ،إضافة إلى نظرة مقارنة إلى المدرسة النحوية العربية من خلال باب الشرط. ونحو منهج في التحقيق تطرق الكتاب لأقسام الأخبار للفارسي،كما تطرق لظاهرة تكرار المعاني في المعجم العربي ،وظاهرة "بجد كفت" بين العربية واللغات السامية،إضافة إلى نظرات في التطور الصوتي للعربية،ومقطع المضارعة بين العربية واللغات السامية ،وكذلك الثابت والمتغير في أصول اللغة. ومن خلال دراسة مقارنة أوضح المؤلف التطور التاريخي لأبنية المصادر في العربية،والاشتقاق في اللغة،ومصطلحات أساسية في التفكير النحوي،إضافة إلى توقفه عند الفصحى في الدرس اللغوي وكتب تعليم العربية عند المستشرقين الألمان،بل والبحث في الجذور التاريخية للظاهرة الاستشراقية من خلال الحديث عن المستشرقين وتاريخ صلتهم بالعربية. وختم الكتاب بنظرة تأصيلية في مفهوم الأدب الاسلامي وعلاقته بالآداب الأخرى،وكذلك المراحل الزمنية للغةالعربية الفصحى.
