في ديوانها الشعري "همس الورد" تبدو جومانا طاهر أنثى مسكونة بالكتابة، فتمارس طقوسها على مذبح القصيدة الحديثة، وتعرف كيف تنسج نصها بذكاء مذهل حتى تكاد تظهر عاشقة للشعر حتى الثمالة "ولاني أعشق الأبجدية/ ولأني ولدت لأعيش بين الأوراق/ ولأن أهم ما أملكه قلمي الصغير... وأصابعي الصغيرة/ ولأن الموت يغتالني حتى يصاب بالصمت حرفي../ لهذا أحتاجك أحياناً أن تؤلمني../ أن توجعني.. أن ترميني بالأذية/ أن تجرحني بعمق.. أن تبكيني/ أن تصفعني على قلبي صفعة حب/ أن تعاقبني بالغياب../ أن تجبرني على الإبتعاد..." بهذه الأداءات الجمالية والتعبيرية ينفتح النص الشعري عند الشاعرة جومانا طاهر إلى آفاق واسعة شفيفة تغوص في الذات الأنثوية وتعبر عن حالاتها المختلفة وخاصة في العلاقة مع الآخر/ الرجل كنت تنبض داخلي كحنين يكبر رويداً رويداً/ كطفل لا يهدأ.. كرجل لا يتكرر/ كنت أعيشك يومياً.. أراقب نموك يومياً.. أراك وأنت تتحول إلى ماردٍ في قلبي يومياً(...)". وهكذا تسترسل الشاعرة في بناء هيكلية مشهدها الشعري بواسطة الفعل الحكائي في بناه المتواشجة والذي يظهر من خلال النص في خطوط التقاطع والإلتقاء وإستدعاء الفعل الماضي (كان) ومن خلال حركتها الدورانية للأنا الشاعرة، وتوهج الصورة الشعرية وانغلاقها داخل بنية محددة ومكثفة من الإيحاء والبناء.
ينطوي الكتاب على مجموعة من القصائد النثرية والنصوص والخواطر والهمسات نذكر من عناوينها: وللحب رائحة الورد، إلى رجل بعيد، أنت وأبجديتي تؤمان، أغار عليك، في حضورك تصمت أبجديتي (...) وقصائد أخرى.
