تُقدّم لأول مرة الأعمال الكاملة لإيزابيل إبرهارت: كتابات على الرمال، وقد جاءت في كتابين، يضم الكتاب الأول بين دفتيه اليوميات كاملة، وملاحظات على الطريق، وتشرّد. وهذه النصوص صورة تعكس ما عاشته إيزابيل إيرهارت منذ أن اختارت الغوص في الصحراء. ويمتزج رابط النص الفعلي طويلاً مع الطريق التي سلكتها. وصفحة بعد صفحة تستحوذ الطبيعة على الكاتبة وعلى القارىء على حد سواء. ومع ذلك فالغرائبية غائبة عن هذه الصفحات. فسحر الصحراء المرافق بنظرة إيزابيل إيرهارت كاف لخلق الأسطورة. وليس فلوبير وموباسان ولوتي ببعيدين عن الحمّى الشرقية، غير أن هذه المرتحلة الكبيرة تتفوق على أولئك الشهود اللامعين، ذلك أنها ترسخ كتابة رحلاتها في قلب الميثولوجيا.
وفي الكتاب الثاني نجد مجموع أعمال إيزابيل إبرهارت المتخيلة لأول مرة حتى تلك التي لم يسبق نشرها، أي سبعاً وخمسين قصة، وأربعة مخططات روائية، وروايتها الوحيدة غير المنتهية للأسف المتشرد.
كانت إيزابيل إبرهارت تكاد لا تبلغ الثامنة عشرة من العمر حين اختارت الإستفزاز للدخول إلى عالم الأدب، فقصتها الأولى المعنونة جهنمية والتي نشرت في المجلة الحديثة الجديدة تشهد على "شبق قبري" غريب. وستستثمر هذه الجرأة على امتداد أعمالها جاعلة من الفلاحين والفيلقيين والمساجين والمومسات والزهاد والمجانين ... أبطال نصوصها.
هذه إذن أعمال إيزابيل إبرهارت التي نشرت في شكلها الأصلي، وهُيّئت مثلما كانت تتمنى.
