في أزمنة الشعر تتجه الكلمة إلى التجربة الشعرية وفي مناطقها تضيع، في أزمنة الضيّق تجابه الكلمة حضارة غربية عن الحرية، عن كيانيّة الإنسان، في أزمنة الحريق تساكن الكلمة أشلاء الجماجم تحت الجسور وفي الأنفاق، وفي أزمنة الرفاق (يوسف الخال، خليل حاوي، يوسف حبشي الأشقر، ميشال بصبوص، الياس أبو شبكة، جبرا إبراهيم جبرا، رياض فاخوري...) تنحني الكلمة، تتناثر، وفي الذاكرة تصير الجرح.
في الظاهر، هذه الأزمنة متباعدة الدروب والمسالك، لكنها في الحقيقة تلتقي في نقطة واحدة عنوانها "أمطار قديمة".
