لكن حلم الخروج سرعان ما يتحقق، ليقذف بضايع الجريان، بطل الرواية، إلى متاهة من التشرد والضياع واللاهدفية، من أوروبا إلى العراق مرة أخرى، إلى تلك القرية المسماة الحامضية، الراقدة على الفرات، رجوع... لكنه وهم في الرأس فقط.
