يقع هذا الكتاب في ثلاث عشرة وحدة، تناولت الوحدات من الأولى إلى الخامسة مواضيع علاقة طرق التدريس بعلم النفس التربوي وأسس التعلم والإتجاهات المعرفية في التعلم لدى مرحلة رياض الأطفال والابتدائية والتدريب على أنماط التفكير وأسلوبي الحوار والمناقشة في تنمية التفكير، والوحدات من السادسة إلى العاشرة تحدثت عن التدريب على التفكير المنطقي والتدريب على حل المسألة وتطوير المعلومات ومقومت التفكير الابداعي وأساليب تطويره ثم الدافعية والتفاعل الصفي والتعلم التعاوني (طريقة المجموعات)، وتناولت الوحدة الحادية عشرة غرس التفكير في تدريس المواضع المختلفة والتطبيقات التربوية، وأخيراً تناولت الوحدة الثانية عشرة خلق الاثارة والدافعية في غرفة الصف عن طريق التعلم الناشط.
