أليس من الممكن، بفضل فرويد ورغماً عنه، أن نتصور المرأة بأبعادها الذاتية؟ وهل هو خطر جداً مشروع استخلاص صورة المرأة خارج المفهوم الذكروي المفروض علينا؟ إنني لن أقوم هنا إلا بأن أضم إلى محاولات أخرى محاولتي تطوير فكر متصور من المرأة ومن الأنثوي.
فهل سيكون من الممكن تصور المرأة بدون صفة النقصان، أن الصفة الخاصة بالرجل تنقصها، وهي الصفة الوحيدة الممكنة؟ المرأة هي النسخة السلبية للرجل. ولأن "علم التشريح هو القدر"، فهل سيكون قدر من تكون امرأة حرماناً من الوجود والكينونة، إنسانية هزيلة؟ أيمكن أيضاً إنكار أنه إذا كان فكر المرأة مختلفاً أحياناً عن فكر الرجل فيما يخص بعض مزاياه، فإنها مع ذلك مساوية له في القيمة؟
إن تفرد المرأة هو في كونها مشكلة من باطنة خفية وخصبة. باطنية معرضة للاختراق، وطبع مختص بالعنصر أنثوى، ومصدر للمتعة، وستكون العلاقة الخاصة للمرأة بداخليتها مرئية هنا من جوانب مختلفة. إن دور المرأة مضاعف فيما يخص الجنسانية: كل شىء داخلى ومخفي فيما يخص التمتع، في حين أن الأمومة، التي تنتج عنه أحياناً، تظهر نشاط هذا الداخلي وتخرجه جسماً-طفلاً. مكان عبور إذن، هي المرأة، للرجل وللطفل.
