يرتكز النص الشعري عند وائل طحان في "أنثروبولوجيا الهباء" على اندماج الذاتي بالموضوعي أو الخاص بالعام وجد لهما الأزلي، وتتقارب موضوعات الشاعر في صيغتها التعبيرية وأنظمتها البلاغية، وجهازها اللغوي فتشع على قصائد المجموعة، لتشكل قيمات شعرية متفوقة في أسلوبيتها وإجناسيتها الأدبية العالية المعنى "تحليلاً أو كثيراً / إلى أقبية النهم الغامض / يندلق الصمتُ / ذاك المدمنُ السهلُ / من آنية الروح النهدانةِ / بأقلّما ضوضاء !! / قلقٌ هذا / أو ما شابه بمزاعم الدلالة / قلقٌ لغةً ! / وجعٌ ملحاحٌ / بخاصرة النصوص المرصوفةِ / على هوامش اللحظة ...". هكذا يأخذنا الشاعر إلى مهاب معانٍ مختلفة، في كتابة تقاوم المعنى، بل لا يمكن اختزالها في معنى " وأنا المحُنكُ بالسكوت / أقولُ: لا أدري، / وآتي .. / فأذني لي / بالدخول / لا تسأليني ما أريدُ ، / فلست أدري، / لستُ أدري / ما أقول". وبهذا القول الشعري يحاول الشاعر إشراك قارئه في تلمس المعنى ، ليتجه إلى مقصده محققاً بذلك مبتغاه الحداثي من دون تفريط في تركيبة النص بنفسه وقراءته بالمعنى الذي يريد.
يضم الكتاب قصائد نثرية جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "الغامق الكرزي" ، "الغريبة" ، "إنتظار" ، "إقتباس في البعيد" ، "شتاء" ، "الواحدة بعد منتصف القصيدة" ، "على ذات الكوكب" ، "كثبان التورط" ، "حفلة المعقول" ، "أنيقٌ"، أنيقٌ وحسب" ، "أنثروبولوجيا الهباء" ، (...) وعناوين أخرى.
