"لما ضربه عليه السلام عبد الرحمن بن ملجم وكان اليوم الثالث أخذ الحسن عليه السلام رأس أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام ووضعه على حجره وعندما أغشى على أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام بكى الحسن عليه السلام بكاء شديد وجعل يقبل وجهه عليه السلام وما بين عينه وموضع سجوده، فسقط من دموعه قطرات على وجهه المؤمنين عليه السلام، ففتح عينيه فرآه باكياً، فقال له: يا بني يا حسن ما هذا البكاء؟ يا بني لأروع على أبيك بعد اليوم، هذا جدك محمد المصطفى وخديجة وفاطمة والحور العين محدقون منتظرون قدوم أبيك، فطب نفساً وقر عيناً، وأكفف عن البكاء فإن الملائكة قد ارتفعت أصواتهم في السماء، يا بني أتجزع على أبيك وغدا تقتل بعدي مسموماً مظلوماً؟ ويقتل أخوك بالسيف هكذا، وتلحقان بجدكما وأبيكما وأمكما. لم تمض حفنة من السنين وإذا بالإمام الحسن عليه السلام اغتاله معاوية بالسم عن طريق زوجته جعة، وأما الإمام الحسين فتناهب جسمه السيوف والرماح وتقطعت أوصاله على صعيد كربلاء".
لا زالت التنبؤات –علم الغيب- من الأمور التي لها الصدارة والاهتمام من قبل العلماء والباحثين والروحانيين والسياسيين، لما لها من آثار على مجريات الحياة، ويأكد أهميتها قوله تعالى عن لسان نبيه صلى الله عليه وسلم: "ولو كنت أعلم الغيب لاستكثرت من الخير".
ولكن لم يكن هنالك من يبحث عن هذا الموضوع بأسلوب واضح ومفهوم ومواكب للحياة، فكان بحثهم له من جوانب ضيقة، مما جعل ذلك في موضع الشك، والحيرة والإهمال.
ولهذا أخذ الشيخ "أسعد كاشف الغطاء" على عاتقه أسلوباً يواكب الحياة ويتماشى معه ليجعله في موقع الاهتمام ومحل دراسة من قبل العلماء والباحثين والساسة، ويكون عون لمن أراد أن يعرف تنبؤات القرآن النبوة والإمامة عن حال الدنيا حالاً ومستقبلاً.
فقسمه إلى مقدمة وتمهيد وأبواب، وكل باب ربما يحتوي على فصول، الباب الأول يحتوي على تنبؤات القرآن الكريم وتنبؤات رسول الله وأهل بيته عليهم السلام، والباب الثاني عصر الظهور تنبؤات ظهور المهدي عج، الباب الثالث في تنبؤات آخر الزمان، والباب الرابع ينقسم إلى فصلين، فصل في النظرة المعرفية حول التنبؤات، وفصل في فوائد.
