يحتوي هذا الكتاب على نصوص الخطب التي كان "السيد محمد الصدر" يلقيها يوم الجمعة في مسجد الكوفة المعظم على المصليين، وفيها يطرح الخطيب براهين فلسفية مبسطة يؤكد من خلالها على وجود الله تعالى، ويبين فضل الدين وشريعة سيد المرسلين على البشرية جمعاء، ويبرهن على صحة الرسالة السماوية المحمدية الخالدة التي تضمن للمجتمع على اختلاف أفكاره واتجاهاته واختلاف لغاته وميولاته السعادة في الدارين.
كما وتصدى الإمام في خصه هذه الإشكاليات التي تصدرت ضد أحكام الدين الإسلامي والذي يبثها ويشيعها العدد المشترك المتمثل بالدرجة الأولى بالثالوث المشئوم الأمريكي البريطاني الصهيونى. كما وسجل الخطيب في هذه الخطب الخطوط الرئيسية والصحيحة للتربية الإسلامية للمجتمع ومنها التربية على تحمل الصعوبات والصبر على الابتلاءات وتصحيح النيات والعمل في سبيل أداء حق المؤمنين.
كما أن في هذه الخطب بيان واضح وجلي لبعض ما يخص حياة الصديقة فاطمة الزهراء ورفع مظلوميتها وإعطاء حقها ومناقشة قضية فدك الإسلام وقضايا أخرى تجدها مسطورة هنا وهناك وبشكل واضح وبرهان ساطع. وفي هذه الخطب أيضاً بيان بفضل الأئمة المعصومين عليهم السلام وكراماتهم وجملة من أحوالهم مع مناقشة أمور كثيرة تخص المرحلة الصعبة التي تمر بها في زمن الغيبة الكبرى، وما يخص الإمام المهدي عليه السلام، هذا وسيجد القارىء في هذه الخطب بحوثاً تتعلق بواقعة الطف لم يسبق لها أن نوقشت من قبل. ولأهمية هذه الخطب عنى السيد "محسن الموسوي" بجمعها في هذا الكتاب مضيفاُ لها عناوين عامة تدل على مباحث الخطبة وتاريخ إلقائها.
