لقد كتب القليل النادر الذي لا يتجاوز عدداً محدوداً في مجال المعاد وقيامة الأرواح والأجساد والعالم الأخر بعد الموت رغم أهمية القصوى التي تحظى بها هذه الموضوعات، وعلى الرغم من تعطش أفراد الجنس البشري لمعرفة ماذا سيحدث بعد الموت، هل ستستمر الحياة وفي إطار أفق أوسع وأشمل أم لا؟
هل أن ظروف الحياة في العالم الآخر هي ذاتها بالنسبة للحياة في هذا العالم، أم حالنا بالنسبة إلى حقائق ذلك العالم حال الجنين الذي لا يمكنه أن يتصور أوضاع الحياة خارج رحم أمه فلا يدرك من مفاهيم الحياة وشروق الشمس وضياء القمر ومداعبة نسيم الربيع وجمال البراعم والزهور وتلاطم الأمواج وعظمة عالم الخلق سوى أنها قبضة من اللحم والدم.
فهل لجهودنا في ظل هذه الحالة أن تكلل بالنجاح؟ هل حقاً ستكون أعمالنا السيئة والصالحة معنا في ذلك العالم، وهي التي ستسوقنا إلى العذاب والنقمة أو الراحة والنعمة؟ وهل يمكننا أن نحيط خبراً بذلك العالم رغم عدم عودة أحد منه؟ هل الموت أليم؟ ما الذي يشعر به الإنسان حين الموت؟ هل تبقى الروح مع تعفن الجسد وتآكله؟ ما هي الروح؟. وكيف يمكن التعرف عليها والارتباط بها من وجهة النظر العلمية والفلسفية؟ هل حقاً يمكن عودة هذا الجسم إلى الحياة (المعاد الجسماني) رغم كونه في حالة تغيير على الدوام وأحياناً تنتقل بعض ذراته إلى غيره من الأبدان على مرور الزمان؟ هل للإيمان بالمعاد آثار تربوية واجتماعية وفكرية وأخلاقية على روح الإنسان وجسمه؟ وبالتالي هل يمكن البرهنة على المسائل المرتبطة بالعالم ما بعد الموت على ضوء الأسس العلمية و...؟ هذه هي الأسئلة والاستفسارات التي يتصدى الكتاب الحاضر لمناقشتها وبحثها وذلك على ضوء القرآن الكريم وأحاديث آل البيت عليهم السلام.
