منذ أن حدثت واقعة "ألطف" المريرة والتي استشهد فيها الإمام الحسين عليه السلام تلازم معها نتاج ثرَ ما يعرف بالأدب الحسيني المستمر حتى يومنا هذا. وهذا الكتاب خطه الشاعر"معين السباك" في رئاء الحسين ووضعه في ستة أبواب: الباب الأول في رثاء زينب للحسين، الباب الثاني في الموشحات، الباب الثالث: عن الفائزي البحراني، الباب الرابع: المتفرقات- العكيلي والأندلس والركباني، الباب الخامس: الركبانيات، الباب السادس: النعي.. المهاديد والأبو ذيات.
وفي أبواب الكتاب الستة ينعي الشاعر الحسين ويرثيه بأبيات تعبر عن الفاجعة الأليمة وعن حزنه الشديد على آل بيت رسول الله ومصابهم باستشهاد سيد رجال أهل الجنة "الحسين" ومن معه من المسلمين الذين آزروه. ومن هذه الشعرية الرائعه قصيدة بعنوان [أم البنين] يقول فيها: "يحسين كلَي وين منواك/ وليا كتر يحسين مسراك/ أخذت الكلب يحسين ويَاك/ تره ديارنه وحشة بلاياك".
