كثيرة هي الإصدارات التي تكلمت عن القادة، لكنها قليلة حينما تريد التحدث عن الكاريزما الصانعة لهالة القائد.
يقول نيكسون في كتابه "قادة": "عادة ما نقول إن القائد في أي ميدان كان، عليه أن يكون هو نفسه، ولكن الحقيقة، ما التقيت بقائد أو زعيم إلا ووجدته ممثلاًن إن القائد هو الممثل الذي عليه أن يلعب أدواراً عديدة ومختلفة".
لكن بين قائد وآخر، هناك فروقات، قد تكون الكاريزما، الحد الفاصل الذي يرفع هذا ويخفض ذاك. لكن ما هي الكاريزما، وما هو تأويل هذا المصطلح الذي رحنا نسمعه بكثرة في الآونة الأخيرة.
يفسر البعض كلمة كاريزما على أنها الهيبة الآثرة التي يتمتع بها البعض دون الآخر، فتكون لكلماته وإيماءاته وأفكاره سحراً خاصاً، يبهر الناظر دون أن يحسن فك ألغاز هذه الجاذبية.
نشاهد الكاريزما في الماهتماغاندي، كما في تشي غيفارا والرئيس جمال عبد الناصر والسيد حسن نصر الله، كما قد تكون في أي إنسان مهما كان نوع عمله أو موهبته.
في هذا الكتاب ثمة توغل على أكثر من محور لمحاولة التقاط بعض أسرار هذا المصطلح، فكان الحديث عن القائد الكاريزمي، كما المبدع الكاريزمي، مع بعض التوسع في الجانب السيكولوجي.
