هذا الكتاب موجّه لطلاب قسم الشريعة والقانون في كلية اللغة العربية والدراسات الإسلامية بالجامعة الليبية في مادة المقارنة بين المذاهب. وفيه بحث مستفيض بسط فيه المؤلف الكلام على أسباب الخلاف بين الأئمة وعلى منشأ الخلاف في كل منها، مع ضرب الأمثلة التطبيقية عليها.
هذا وقد قسّم المؤلف كتابه إلى ثلاثة أقسام جعل كل قسم منها خاصاً بسنة من السنوات الدراسية الجامعية. ورغم أهمية الكتاب المتمثلة في حسن عرضه للمسائل الخلافية في الفقه المقارن، ورجاحة استنتاجات مؤلّفه، مع قدرة على تقرير المباحث بلغة سهلة ممتنعة، إلا أن الكتاب لم يلقَ العناية المطلوبة من ناحية المضمون، إذا كانت طبعته المتداولة بين أيدي الطلاب لا يُميز فيها حديث من آية أو نصّ، إضافة إلى وجود أخطاء لا يستهان بها. وتمتاز الطبعة التي بين أيدينا في أنها جاءت محققة ومعتنى بمضمونها عناية تامة، وبالرجوع بعمل المحقق نجد أنه يتجلى بـ: أولاً: عزو الآيات القرآنية إلى مواضعها في المصحف، وكتبها بالرسم العثماني لتجنب الخطأ فيها. ثانياً: خرج أغلب أحاديث الكتاب، ودون تبيان درجة الحديث من صحة وضعف. ثالثاً: شرح ما يتعسر فهمه على الطالب المتوسط الثقافة.
