يحتوي هذا الكتاب من "موسوعة الرسول المصطفى" على دراسة تدور حول صراع الوحي والرأي عبر التاريخ وتتألف من أربعة فصول: الفصل الأول: يتناول أهم أدلة القائلين بالرأي بالدراسة والتحليل في إطار المناهج الكلاسيكية ومناهج البحث العلمي الحديث. الفصل الثاني يعرض أهم أدلة القائلين بحرمة تعاطي الرأي كواسطة في التعبير عن إرادة الوحي ومقاصد الشريعة الإسلامية، وفي ذلك الإطار أيضاً، ضمن أربعة مباحث.
الفصل الثالث: وهو بمجموع مباحثه يحدد هوية الرأي من خلال الواقع التاريخي عبر تسلسل النظم السياسية والهيئات الاجتماعية لمن نطق بالشهادتين. الفصل الرابع: يتضمن بحوثاً تناول أولهما مسألة الرأي في محاولة لتحديد ما إذا كان الرأي واقع إسلامي أم أسطورة. أما الثاني: فعرض لأهم المقولات (المقولات الأم) المصطبغة بصبغة الإسلام المرشحة من الرأي كنتيجة للصراع، وعرض الثالث لمعالم الأطروحة النبوية التي وقفت بوجه الرأي، والتي لم تفسح المجال أمامه ليأخذ دوره كأساس ينطوي على حقيقة المصلحة على حساب كل شيء، تلك التي فضحت عوار خلال مسيرة التاريخ..
