كل مدرسة فكرية تقوم حتماً على أساس نظرة للكون وتفسير للعالم، وهذا الأساس يصطلح عليه اسم "التصور"؛ جميع الأديان والمذاهب وكل المدارس الفكرية والفلسفية والإجتماعية تستند إلى نوع من التصور؛ فهناك أنواع كثيرة التصوّر، مثلاً التصور العلمي (المفهوم العلمي للعالم)، والتصور الفلسفي (المفهوم الفلسفي للعالم)، والتصور الديني (المفهوم الديني للعالم)، وأخيراً التصور التوحيدي؛ فالتصور التوحيدي يعني فهم العالم على أنه خلق نتيجة لمشيئة، وأن نظام الوجود يقوم على أساس الخير والرحمة وعلى أساس البلوغ بالموجودات إلى كمالها المطلوب.
وهذا ما يتناول موضوع هذا الكتاب حيث يسعى المؤلف إلى التعريف بالتصور التوحيدي مبيناً علاقته بالتصور الإسلامي، ثم صنف مراتب التوحيد ودرجات الشرك والحد الفاصل بينهما، كما عرض مختلف المفاهيم المتعلقة في التصور التوحيدي كالصدق والإخلاص والحكمة البالغة والعدل الإلهي، ثم اختتم كتابه بفهرس للمواضيع التي تضمنها الكتاب.
