في ديوانه هذا، يبين لنا الشاعر "معتز نادر" عشقه لذاته بإختياره عنوان "النرجسيات" لكي يكون العنوان الرئيسي لقصائده المختلفة التي تحمل معاني متنوعة تنتج من ذاته وكينونته؛ وقد بلغ عدد هذه القصائد 26 قصيدة في الشعر الحداثي حملت عناوين اشتملت على كل ما يخطر ببال الشاعر من تأملات وذهول وبؤس وإدراك وحروب وشذوذ يعبر من خلالها عن آراءه وتساؤلاته عن توقفنا عن ممارستنا المقدسات المتوارثة وألمه الذي أصاب فؤاده متأثراً بوقائع ماضية.
أما في أعماق الحب فيقول: ... من انت الذي تجمعُ الطاعنَ في السنِ مع اليافعينَ... في حديقةٍ صغيرةٍ ليسردَ لهم... مغامرات فتونهِ ورحيقَ ذكرياتهِ... من أنتَ؟... الذي تجعلهُ يروي حكايتهُ العاطفيةَ الأولى... برقةٍ وتمعنٍ غريبٍ...
منْ أنتَ؟... الذي يجعلُ الشبانَ يسخرونَ منْ أحكامِ القدرِ... وطبيعة الوجود... منْ عساكَ تكونُ؟!... أنتَ الذي تجعلُ المرأةَ... تبحثُ في جيوبِ الرجالِ... عن منبعِ حلمها الخاصِ... منْ تكونُ أنتَ!!... يا من ترعى الرموزَ في مخيلةِ الأطفالِ... وتمجدُ رغباتهم... منْ تكونُ؟؟... لقدْ عرفتكَ... يا لكَ من حبٍ...
"أيها الغروب المتألق... لون عيوني بإشراف المتسامح، وألمس وجودي بنسيمك الفذ، فأنت شعري الخرنوبي وعيوني الشهل، أيها الشبح اللازوردي... عليك بي، إنك مجد العودة لزمان ألفته".
