Book Description
ولدت لسان الحال في 18 تشرين الأول سنة 1877، فكانت الصحيفة العربية الخامسة والستين، ظهرت في الربع الأخير من القرن التاسع عشر الذي كان قرن تبدل وتحول، وعرف نصفه الثاني إشراق النهضة وتألقها، والعوامل السياسية والثقافية والإجتماعية فكانت في تفاعل مستمر.
وصدور "لسان الحال" كان تعبيراً عن الغليان الفكري العنيف، وصورة واقعية وحيّة للإنبعاث المذهل الذي ستشهده المنطقة، بل كان مظهراً من مظاهر الإنتفاضة المتمثلة في الثورات والحروب، والنشاط الثقافي والإجتماعي وحتى السياسي المحلي أيضاً من جهة أخرى، ومجال التعبير عن هذا التحرك والتململ كان يظهر في المدارس والإرساليات والمطابع والصحف، والكتب والمكتبات والملاهي والبيوت، وفي نفس كل فرد وضمن كل أسرة، في الساحل والجبل.
لم تكن "لسان الحال"، تاريخياً، الجريدة العربية الأولى ولكنها الوحيدة التابعة لمؤسسة غير رسمية والتي ظهرت في الربع الأخير من القرن الماضي واستمرّت في الصدور حتى يومنا هذا؛ لقد كان خطها البياني يمر بفترات صعود وهبوط لكنه عملياً لم ينقطع، ومن يود الإطلاع على تاريخ الصحافة (وربما تاريخ البلد) وعلى تطور الصحف قلباً وقالباً لا بد له من دراسة هذه الجريدة بالذات وقد تغنيه عن الإطلاع على سواها.
لذلك، اعتمد المؤلف في دراسته على المراجع المطبوعة المذكورة في التعليقات، وعلى الأشخاص المتصلين بتاريخ الجريدة، واستقينا معلومات كثيرة من الصحفيين والمهتمين بتاريخ الصحافة واتصل بعدد من المسنّين الذين عاشوا في مطلع القرن العشرين وأفادوه بما شاهدوا في طفولتهم من أحداث وما سمعوا من أحاديث، ولكن أهم مصدر كان مجموعة "لسان الحال".
