لما كانت المكتبة العربية الإسلامية تفتقر إلى مرجع الطائفة البكتاشية والقزلباشية (علويي الأناضول) الذين يعتبرون الحاج (بكتاش ولي) مرشدهم وشيخ طريقتهم البكتاشية ومؤسسها، ولما كان "بسيم صبحي الأنطاكي" على معرفة بهذا النقص وعلى اضطلاع على تاريخ هذه الطائفة وعلى معتقدات أهلها وعاداتهم وطقوسهم وذلك يعود لحضوره العديد من الاحتفالات والطقوس التي كان البكتاشيين يقومون بها في مناسباتهم الدينية والاجتماعي، وكذلك لمجالسته للعديد من رجال الدين منهم ومناقشته لهم في الكثير من الأمور والقضايا التي تتعلق بطائفتهم، من هنا فقد كانت لديه المعلومات الهامة والدقيقة عن هذه الطائفة التركية العربية.
وهذا ما دفعه لإعداد كتابه الذي بين أيدينا والذي يعد الأول من نوعه في المكتبة العربية وهو يحوي على معلومات هامة جداً تشرح تاريخ هذه الطائفة، وسيرة مؤسسها "الحاج بكتاش ولي"، ومعتقدات من عادات متبعيها، وطريقتهم الصوفية (العلوية القز لباشية) وآراءهم في القرآن والإمام علي، والأئمة الإثنا عشر عليهم السلام، وبخلق الله للعالم، وطريقتهم في الوصول لله، وأسباب كرههم لبعض الحيوانات، ثوراتهم ضد العثمانيون، مقاماتهم المقدسة، المناطق التي سكنوها...
كل ذلك تحدث عنه على ضوء المعلومات التي جمعها من مراجع البكتاشيين أنفسهم وعلى ضوء المعلومات التي حفظها في ذاكرته. وهو لا يتوانى بين الحين والآخر أن يقدم صورة قديمة التقطها عن عادات هذه الطائفة أو صورة معروفة تمثل مشايخهم وجلساتهم السرية والعلنية والتي يصلون فيها أو يتعبدون.
