وهذه الصفحات ليست مذكرات بقدر ما هي ذكريات وهي انطباعات بقدر ما هي سرد واقعي لحوادث فيها بعض المتعة أو العبرة وهي كذلك حدث شخصي وعام معاً، وهي تسجل بعد سنوات من حدوثها ولهذا سقط من الذاكرة كل حدث غير مؤثر، وهذه ميزة في رأيي، ثم إن بعض الخصوصيات لا يليق ذكرها للقارئ العربي الذي لم يأتلق أدب الاعترافات حتى لو تحلى الكاتب بشجاعة الاعتراف أحياناً!
والدول أو المدن كالأشخاص بعضها تحبه من أول نظرة والبعض الآخر تتعمد نسيانه! وقد حرصت على أن أكون صادقاً في نقدي لبعض الظواهر السلبية في الدول التي زرتها ليس بدافع الكره وإنما بدافع الحب أحياناً!
وأخيراً... فالشعوب تبقى وتدون أما الأنظمة السياسية والاجتماعية فتذهب وتتحول أو تنهار وتتحلل.. ويبقى وجه ربك.
