وكان هذا الكتاب إطلالة على فكر الإسلام ورؤيته وبرنامجه وبعض قوانينه وتشريعاته. وهو واحد من الآثار المدونة للمفكر الأستاذ مرتضى مطهري. ويحتوي على مقدمة وثمانية فصول. وتتألف المقدمة من قسمين: مقالة بعنوان نظرة إلى الاقتصاد الإسلامي، والأخرى: بحث حول الاقتصاد السليم. الفصل الأول: تعريف بالاقتصاد والمفاهيم الاقتصادية والثاني حديث عن الملكية من وجهة النظر الفلسفية. الثالث والرابع: بحثان عن القيمة والقيمة الفائضة. الخامس: تناول فيه بالمناقشة الرأسمالية والاشتراكية من وجهة نظر إسلامية. السادس: ثلاثة مقالات اقتصادية وهي: ملكية الأرض من وجهة نظر الإسلام (الأنفال). والإرث. والاشتراكية. السابع: كتابان حول الإسلام والاقتصاد. وملاحظات نظرية على النظام الاقتصادي الإسلامي. وهو خلاصة ومختصر لموضوعات الكتاب، أما القسم الثامن: والأخير فهو مما كان الأستاذ المرتضى قد كتبه في حاشية مخطوطته من عناوين واختصارات لموضوعات الكتاب.
