تصل هذه الدراسة أوراق السرد بأوراق الفكر سواء أكان هذا الفكر نقداً أم فلسفةً أم سؤالاً طرحته ذاكرة السرد الخياليَة في محاولة للإجابة على سؤال الوجود، وقد يكون درس كهذا مربكاً للقراءة التي تتشبث بحدود صارمة بين القول الأدبيَ والقول الفلسفي بكافَة تجلياته، لا سيما وأنَ الفعل النظري لا يستسيغ انفراط مثل هذه الحدود أو تداخلها. اليس هذا العقل هو الذي صاغ معضلة الصورة الفنيَة في تراثنا النقدي القديم؟ ألم يكن التعقَل المفرط وراء غياب درس الرؤية الصوفيَة للخيال قديماً وحديثاً على السواء؟ من هنا تأتي أهمية هذه الدراسة في طرح مفهوم مختلف للسرد تقرأ بمقتضاه الفكر القديم، بتجليَاته الفلسفية والنقدية والصوفية، في علاقته بالقصً، وتصل من خلاله بين نصَ قديم، ومثل نصَ "حي بن يقظان"، ونصوص كاتب مثل نجيب محفوظ، وبين هذا وذاك تطرح أسئلة وتثور قضايا لا تزال توجَه اللاوعي النقدي الحديث وتمارس دوراً لايستهان به في تحديد خياراته النقدَية، سواء أكنَا نعني مسألة العقل والخيال أو سبل البحث عن الحقيقة، أو المعنى عموماً. خلال هذا كلَه يفعل السرد، بوساطته، فعل المرايا المتقابلة التي تعكس، في فعل عكسها لموضوعها، موضوع المرايا المقابلة لها. وذلك دون أن ينفي هذا الإنعكاس المتبادل خصوصيَة كل مرآة واستقلالها بموضوعها، فيجيب على أسئلة الفكر مثلما يجيب على أسئلة الأدب.
