في عام 1905 نشر آينشتاين ثلاث نظريات محكمة بقوانين رياضية لا ثغرة فيها، وهي نظرية الكموم (جمع كم)، نظرية الحركة البراونية، ونظرية النسبية الخاصة فأثار ذلك ضجة كبيرة ذلك أنه نسف فيها الفيزياء النيوتنية بل الفيزياء الكلاسيكية برمتها بأسلوب رياضي بسيط.
وفي هذا الكتاب يعرض المؤلف لنظرية النسبة وفق رؤية رياضية إذ يمهد لذلك ببعض المسلمات والمعلومات الهامة التي تمهد لفهم النظرية، وهو يستخدم أسلوباً بسيطاً تصاعدياً وقد دعم بحثه بكل ما يعرفه وبمصادر متعددة وبأكثر من لغة وبأسلوبه الخاص ومعلوماته الخاصة. وهو يقدم لكل ذلك بنبذة عن حياته ومواهبه وأهم إنجازاته العلمية.
