يتناول هذا الكتاب سيرة الأديب عبد علي بن ناصر بن رحمة الحويزي من مواليد مطلع القرن الحادي عشر الهجري في مدينة الحويزية التي إليها نسب، وتعلم في مدارسها وتتلمذ على أساتذتها وشيوخها وتوثقت صلته بحكامها وأمرائها، ثم يستعرض محقق ( مناهج الصواب) بشكل شمولي ذلك الكتاب القيم وما جاء فيه من موضوعات تتصل بعلم الإعراب، حيث يشير إلى منهج الكلمة والكلام وما يتعلق بذلك و منهج في المبتدأ والخبر حيث يؤكد أن المبتدأ هو أصل المرفوعات و منهج في الحال وهو الفضلة المبينة لصاحبها و الأغلب فيه أن يكون مشتقا و منهج في المعرفة و الفكرة ومنهج في نواسخ الابتداء و سميت بذلك لنقصها بدون الخبر و منهج في الفاعل وهو ما أسند إليه فعل أو شبهه قائما به حقيقة أو حكما و منهج في نائب الفاعل وبعض المواضيع النحوية المعمقة ، والأوجه المتعددة لها.
