عندما اختتم سبحانه وتعالى النبوة بمحمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، الرسول الذي خلت من قبله الرسل كانت حياته الشريفة قد انطوت على كافة العلوم الإنسانية، بما في ذلك السياسية والاقتصادية والعسكرية والطبية وكل ما يتعلق بالدنيا والآخرة، فكان ينبوع علم تدفق لتنهل منه البشرية. ومن نعم الله أيضاً أن جعل من عترة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أئمة هدى يأخذون بأيدي المسلمين نحو الصراط المستقيم، وخصّهم الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم بأحاديث كثيرة وردت في أمهات كتب مختلف الفرق والمذاهب الإسلامية دون استثناء، وكانت حياتهم حافلة بازدهار مختلف العلوم، ومن بينها علم الطب الذي اهتموا به اهتماماً واضحاً، وكان جزءاً من واجباتهم تجاه الأمة، إذ وردت عنهم عليهم السلام أحاديث غزيرة حول مختلف النباتات والأعشاب والثمار ودورها في معالجة الأمراض.
وهذه الموسوعة التي بين أيدينا "موسوعة طب الأئمة" تجمع بين طياتها مختلف الأحاديث الواردة عن الأئمة فيما يتعلق بموضوع طب الأعشاب وكيفية استعماله في العلاج من الأمراض، وكذلك فوائده، والخصائص الإضافية الأخرى التي تحتويها تلك المواد. وللتأكيد على صحة ما ورد في هذه الأحاديث قام المؤلف بإضافة المادة العلمية الجديدة التي توصل إليها العلماء في العصر الحالي وذلك للتأكيد على نبوغ الأئمة في مجال التداوي بالأعشاب.
