يتناول الكتاب النظرية العامة لاتفاق التحكيم اي ماهية اتفاق التحكيم ومفهومه وتعريفه التي يتناول المفهوم اللغوي والقانوني للتحكيم ثم خصائص اتفاق التحكيم وتمييز اتفاق التحكيم عن غيره من الانظمة القانونية المشابهة له اي تمييز التحكيم عن القضاء والصلح والخبرة والوكالة ثم أنواع التحكيم اي التحكيم من حيث الزاميته الى تحكيم اختياري وتحكيم إجباري من حيث أطرافه إلى تحكيم فردي وتحكيم دولي وعلى أساس جنسيته الى تحكيم وطني والى تحكيم اجنبي كما يتناول المحكمون وإجراءاتهم وقرارات التحكيم منها المحكمون واجراءات التحكيم التي تتناول المبادىء الأساسية للمرافعة أمام المحكمين والأحوال الطارئة على المرافعة التحكيمية والأحوال التي تؤدي إلى وقف المرافعة التحكيمية وذلك باتفاق الطرفين وبقرار من هيئة التحكيم ثم تنفيذ قرار المحكمين والطعن بقرارات المحكمين.
