في عملها الأدبي الأول "قراي النائمة" تخط ملكيه عبد الحميد قصائد ثيمتها الانتظار بقلم يجر عن خيباته معه في عوالم مرتبكة، يبدو المتحدث الوحيد فيها هي الروح/ روح الشاعرة الأنثى التي تحمل جروحها بين ضلوعها، وتواري أوجاعها في شجرة الشعر الكبيرة خوف التلاشي... عن "الأوقات..!" تقول ملكية: -كم ثانية في الشوق؟/ بعدد اجتماع نبض قلبين في صدر واحد!/ كم شوقاً في الإنتظار؟/ بعد زخات العرق الهاربة من جلدنا!/ كم انتظار لإختصاره؟/ الانتظار احتضار.. بيد أن الموت أرفق من طول الإنتظار.
من هذا المنطلق تؤسس الشاعرة بقية النصوص، لتظل الكتابة أقوى من الموت وأقوى من الانتظار، ذاهبة لمطلقها الإنساني بزهو، وبدون قيود.
تقول الشاعرة: "... منذ الغد سأقرر إفتراضاً أنني سأغدو/ أفصل في الكتابة../ وأنني سأقدم مشروع الكتاب وسأسقط احتمالات الخسارة والفشل!/ ولكن.. ليأت الغد أولاً/ ليأتي الآن!".
يضم الكتاب ما يزيد عن الثلاثون نصاً نثرياً نذكر من العناوين: "فهرس الوجع"، رغبات صباحية"، طقوس تختارنا"، "الأوقات!.."، "حزن لا اسم له!"، "درس الكتابة"... الخ.
