بين الماء والضوء يتنقّل فوزي باكير، مثل نرسيس، خجلاً خائب الأمل يخشى أن يرى حقيقة وجهه، فلا ينعم بفضيلة الإنتحار الّذي يمنحه الخلود، ولا الضوء يعكس حقيقة ما يشتهي من الظلال في ما يكسره من مرايا قائمة، ولا الماء يصفو من حوله ليعكس تقاطيع الوجه الذي يريده مفتاحاً لأبواب الحياة الّتي يروم الدخول في جنّاتها المتمنّعة، وحين أسقط في يده لجأ إلى إختراع مراياه ومهَرَها بما يرغب من إنعكاسات رأى أنّها الأقرب إلى تشكيل صورة وجهه الّذي لا يراه سواه، وحين قرّت عيون الحروف بين يديه، أعلن عن لا جدوى الحوار مع الماء والشمس والمرايا، فكتب مراثيه كفارس ينعى حصانه في ذروة الحرب، فوزي قادم إلى كوكب الشعر بخيول تُغير دون أن تسمح للطين أن يعلق بحوافرها.
