يُعد "فرانز كافكا" من أهم الكُتّاب الروائيين في القرن العشرين وهو يُمثل إنطباعاً خاصاً فيه، ولما استدركت أهمية هذا الروائي التشيكي الجنسية لما تحمله أعماله المكتوبة باللغة الألمانية من نقل لمعاناته بوصفه فرداً في أقلية يهودية إلى لغة الأكثرية فقد عاش كافكا إغتراباً وتحمل حياته في طياتها نزعات فلسفية ظاهراتية ووجودية ومعاناته من أزمات عصره الذي واجهها بوصفه يهودياً في أجواء العنصرية الأوروبية ضد اليهود فقد عاني كافكا اليهودي المنقطع الصلة بالديانة اليهودية من فقدان وجوده بين اليهود بسبب لغته الألمانية التي عزلته عنهم وعن التشيكيين المسيح لكونه يهودياً.
وقد جسّد كافكا وصوّر ونقل لنا صورة العصر كما هي من نظام العمل الهرمي الروتيني إلى البشر العاجزين عنه في نتاجه الضخم والكبير بالنسبة إلى شخص فارق الحياة في الأربعينيات من عمره فقد ترك خلفه روايات شهيرة على صعيد الأدب العالمي ومئات القصص القصيرة والطويلة ومجموعة دفاتر يومياته ورسائله التي خلف كافكا بنفسه خطاباً بحرقها إلى صديقته ماكس برود الذي خالف صديقه المتوفى ونشرها كلها بعد خمسة أعوام على وفاته.
ولذلك ارتأيت أن أقدم هذه الدراسة للتعرُّف عليه والتعريف عنه وأيضاً نقله إلى حقل الفلسفة العراقية.
