فكّرتُ طويلاً، وأخذتُ كثيراً من الوقت، حتى استَقرَّ رأيي على هذا العنوان، عّلَّهُ يكونُ اسماً على مسمّى، وتنطبقُ عليه مقولة "الكتاب يُقرأ من عنوانه" ففيه أرى نفْسي، ورحلةَ عمري، ومسلسلَ أيامي، ومختلفَ مشاعري، وأرى فيه كذلك فَرَحَ الصِّبا، ووجع البعاد، ومعاناة الغربة...
وأنا - في الوقت نفسه - من جيلٍ عصاميٍّ، طامحٍ، حَمَلَ مبادئَ المُثل العليا، وحَلِمَ بغدٍ عربي مشرق، ومستقبلٍ زاهر، وبإستقرارٍ واعد... لكن الأحداثَ التي طاولتِ الوطنَ الصغير ودنيا العرب، اغتالتْ آمالنا، وخَنقَتْ أحلامنا، وأحالتْ أيامنا قلقاً وإحتراباً ورعباً، فدمَّرْنا وظننا، وتقاتلنا - ولمّا نزلْ - وفقدْنا نعمةَ الإيمان، ولذَّةَ الإستقرار، وأضعْنا عمرْنا بين التهجير والخوف، ورميْنا أنفسنا في دوّامة صراعٍ عَبَثي مجنون.
نحن، المعذّبين في الأرض، لا نعرف ما يحمل إلينا غَدُنا، وما نخبئه لنا الأيّام... نرجو، ونحلم، ألاَّ نُهَجَّرَ في وطننا، اوْ مِنْ وطننا، فهذه مأساة فلسطين، مأساةُ كلِّ العرب تُذكِّرُنا بكلِّ أندلسٍ ضائعة، وبكلّ مؤامرةٍ خبيثةٍ طاولت أو سوف تطاول أيَّ بقعةٍ من وطننا الكبير.
