تقلب صفحاتها، لنجد أن الإنسان العربي هو الغاية والمثال التي تسعى هيئة تحرير المجلة إلى خلقه من جديد، بدأت بوادر التغيير، ولن تتوقف فجاءت "الآخر" بمناخاتها، ونوافذها، وآفاقها المفتوحة صوتاً لجميع الخلاقين، وفي جميع الميادين، خصوصاً للشابات والشبان "فعندما نقول "مناخ" نعني أن العواصف رؤية وإبداعاً، يمكن أن تنفجر فيها؛ وعندما نقول "نوافذ" نعني الآخر الذي يمكن داخل الذات، جزء لا يكتمل إلا بالآخر الذي يتحرك خارجها، ولا تكتفي هذه المجلة في أن تكون مكاناً للمغامرة، وإنما هي كذلك وسط لتوليد المغامرات، المغامرة في صُلب المنغلقة، الواحدية، وهو خروج لا تطيقه ثقافة السلطة العربية التي هي منغلقه ووحداية".
تصدر المجلة عن مؤسسة 40، أما صاحبها فهما: الشاعر والأديب المعروف "أدونيس" والأستاذ "حارث يوسف".
تضمن العدد الثاني من الآخر – خريف 2011 عدة محاور هي: • هل الفرد اختراع عربي؟ • الشباب الجامح:المفهوم والتمرّد • شباب لا تغيّره الشهادات العليا • الحقيقة المزيّفة • الإنترنت مندمجاً مع المسجد
