حين انطلقت مجلة "نقد" انطلاقتها الأولى مطلع العام 2007، أثارت سجالاً – من بين السجالات التي رافقتها – حول معنى تخصيص كل عدد لتجربة شاعر واحد، المقصود طبعاً أن الفكرة فيها شُبهة أرشيفية، لكنها مع كل عدد جديد باتت تتبلور أكثر فأكثر كمنبر لحراك نقدي مواكب للقصيدة العربية الحديثة.
بعد توقُّف قسري، دام أكثر من ثلاث سنوات، تعود مجلّة "نقد" إلى الصدور لتعاود الإلتحاق بشقيقتها "الغاوون"، لأن ما تستطيع فعله مرهون بها وحدها، وعودتها وليدة وعي أكبر بأهمية الدور الذي يجب أن تضطلع به، مع رؤية أكثر نضجاً لكيفية سير مجلّة من هذا النوع، ومع تواضع أكثر ربما افتقدته الإنطلاقة الأولى، ومع إقتراب بأكبر قدر ممكن مما يُمكن تسميته بالنقد الحيّ، بعدما أضرَّت بإنطلاقتها الأولى بعض الدراسات "المدرسيَّة" الميتة التي أخطأنا في نشرها.
المهمة الأساسية لمجلة كــ"نقد" يجب أن تكون المساهمة قدر الإمكان في بلورة الحركة الحديثة للقصيدة العربية نقدياً، من خلال تنظيم الحراك النقدي في مجرى تأريخي صحيح، هذا ما بقي، أو ما رشحَ وتبلور من ورقة عددها الأول.
وفي الإنطلاقة الثانية لا بدّ أن نبدأ من يقين أن المهمَّة أصعب، وسبب ذلك عدم وجود حركة نقدية عربية تستوفي شروطها التاريخية للإضطلاع بدور مركزي، ولذا فإن وجود مجلة متخصِّصة بالنقد سيسمح بمراكمة التجربة، لبلورة ما يمكن أن يُؤسِّس لحركة نقدية مستقبلية تفهم أن النقد ليس جزءاً من أجزاء التاريخ الأدبي فحسب، وإنما أحد صانعيه.
