"فلسطين دولة" كتاب يتضمن توثيقاً تاريخياً للمراحل التي سلكتها القيادة الفلسطينية، منذ العام 1974 وحتى العام 2012 لانتزاع الإعتراف الدولي بمنظمة التحرير الفلسطينية ككيان مراقب في "الأمم المتحدة" مع الرئيس الأسبق ياسر عرفات. ثم رفع مستوى التمثيل إلى دولة مراقب مع الرئيس الحالي محمود عباس. قدم للكتاب الرئيس محمود عباس/ رئيس دولة فلسطين بكلمة جاءت تحت عنوان "لا وطن لنا إلا فلسطين وعاصمته القدس، وفيها اعتبر "إن اعتراف 138 دولة في "الأمم المتحدة" برفع مكانة فلسطين كدولة. يبعث رسالة مبشرة لملايين الفلسطينيين على أرض فلسطين وفي مخيمات اللادئين في الوطن والشتات وللأسرى مناضلي الحرية في السجون الإسرائيلية بأن العدالة ممكنة التحقيق. وأن الأمل مبرر، وأن شعوب العالم لا تقبل باستمرار الإحتلال (...)". أما المؤلف/ هيثم سليم زعيتر فاعتبر "أن قرارات "الأمم المتحدة" هي ذات قيمة معنوية، وتبقر حبراً على ورق، إلى أن تتغير موازين القوى في العالم، وحينها يمكن فرض تنفيذها، لأن الصراع هو على الأرض وليس فقط في "الأمم المتحدة" التي تغيرت فيها الظروف، خلافاً لما كان الوضع عليه في العام 1947م. عند صدور القرار الدولي رقم 181 القاضي بتقسيم فلسطين(...)".
لا يقتصر الكتاب على الناحية التوثيقية، بل يعرض لصور حيَة من صور النضال الفلسطيني، يروي حكايا الأبطال ممن قاوموا الإحتلال بصدورهم العارية، ويمرَ على الجرحى والأسرى والمعتقلين، مبعدين ومشردين داخل أرض فلسطين وفي الشتات، ويؤكد حقهم في العودة، وهو حق ليس للفلسطينيين فقط، بل لكل من ناضل من أجلها، عرباً مسلمين ومسيحيين وأحراراً.
