يعد كتاب "تلخيص الكون والفساد" الكتاب الثالث والأخير من تلاخيص ابن رشد الطبيعية، وينحصر في بيان الأسباب العامة لجميع ما يكون ويفسد الكون، وتلخيص أسباب النمو والإستحالة؛ وتعريف كل منها، كما يبحث في تعريف مذاهب القدماء في الكون والفساد ووجودهما في الجوهر، وكذلك الفرق بين الكون والإستحالة، وتعريف النمو وكيف يكون وبماذا ينمو، وأيضاً تعريف المماسة والأشياء المتماسة ودراسة طبيعة الإنفعال والفعل وطبيعة الأشياء الفاعلة والمنفعلة وأخيراُ معرفة الإختلاط والأشياء المختلطة.
يستند تحقيق الكتاب إلى ثلاث مخطوطات هي: مخطوط باريس رقك 1009 عبري، مخطوط اكسفورد 34 عبري، مخطوط مودينا رقم 13 عبري.
يناقش هذا الكتاب اعتقاد القدماء في مسائل تبحث في نشأة الكون وتبلوره على الشكل الذي غياه من الناحية الطبيعية بالإستناد إلى مقولات أرسطو في أجزاء العلم الطبيعي وأبي الوليد محمد بن رشد الحفيد.
