وتكثر الحكايات، فثمة امرأة تدير مفتاح الكلام في فم ابنها المتأخر عن النطق، أخرى تبنت فرق شفتها حبة الرمان، فتكبر كالفضيحة، حتى يبترها والد الفتاة لتنتهي بموتها، بينما تمار حنان ارتباكها أمام الإشارات التي يقدمها رجل ليس من ثوبها الاجتماعي، وثمة امرأة تقترف الخيانة سراً، فيطاردها وجه زوجها، وأخرى تصعق عندما ترى جسدها غير المتناسق في المرآة إلى آخر ذلك من قصص تترك الباب مفتوحاً على الدهشة أو مفارقات قد يتوقعها القارئ... مما يعطي دلالة أنها قصص مستمرة... نتقاطع معها كل يوم في الشارع والوظيفة والأسرة وأوجه الحياة المختلفة.
