روائي كويتي من مواليد عام 1958 حصل على بكالوريوس الهندسة المدنية من جامعة الكويت عام 1982 بدأ الكتابة الأدبية في أثناء الدراسة الجامعية في منتصف السبعينات. أصدر ست مجموعات قصصية منها: “أبوعجاج طال عمرك”، “أغمض روحي عليك”، “مرآة الغبش”، “حكايا رملية”، “سرقات صغيرة”. وأصدر أربع روايات منها: “ظل الشمس”، “رائحة البحر”، “الثوب”، ترجمت بعض أعماله إلى الإنجليزية والفرنسية والألمانية رأس لجنة التحكيم لجائزة البوكر العربية فى دورتها الثالثة 2010.

المكان الكويت، الزمان القرن العشرين، الأشخاص متعددة الجنسيات، مواطنون كويتيون، وافدون... غير أن الأحداث واحدة، كلها تدور في إطار اجتماعي، زواج وطلاق، حب، كره، استغلال، حقد، الخ... وهذا ما جعل من هذه القصة محط إثارة وتشويق، غذ أنها تقدم الواقعة أو الحادثة شارحة بالتفصيل تسلسل الأحداث وتاركة لخيال القارئ تكهن الخاتمة، التي حاول القاص وبأسلوبه الإشارة إليها في سياق سرده للحوادث.
و"أبو عجاج طال عمرك" هو عنوان قصة قصيرة من قصص هذه المجموعة وعي تروي قصة موظف جديد يتلقى الأمور ولا تخرج من فمه سوى كلمة أوامرك "طال عمرك" ومع ذلك فهو لا ينفذ إلا ما يمليه عليه تفكيره دون اكتراث بما يصدره المدر من قرارات وآخر مخططاته هو استقدام موظف باكستاني ليساعده في عمله الذي لا يدعوا أن يكون حمل ورقة ونقلها من مكتب لآخر.
