الشهيد السيد محمد باقر الصدر هو من أعاظم علماء وفلاسفة هذا العصر، ومن المفكرين المبدعين في جميع المجالات. وكان قد تعرض إلى آيات كثيرة من القرآن الكريم في الكثير من أبحاثه وكتبه التي تميزت بدقتها وعمقها وأسلوبها الحديث وإجابتها عن أسئلة العصر وعرضها لمتطلبات هذا العصر ومشاكله ووضع الحلول المناسبة لها بالاستعانة بعدد كبير من الآيات القرآنية المتفرقة في أبحاثه المختلفة.
ومحمد باقر الصدر، وعلى الرغم من تنوع أبحاثه وتعددها؛ إلا أنه لم يترك أثراً مستقلاً في التفسير، فكانت المحاولة بالتقاط جميع الآيات القرآنية من جميع أبحاثه الفقهية والأصولية والعقائدية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية، المنشورة في كتبه المختلفة، وجمعها في هذا الكتاب.
ومن المواضع والموارد التي استلت منها هذه المباحث هي: 1-المواضع التي تمسك فيها الشهيد الصدر بآية لإثبات حكم من الأحكام. 2-المواضع التي استشهد فيها الصدر لإثبات مدّعاه وتأييده سواء في الفقه أو الأصول أو الاقتصاد أو العقائد. 3-المواضع التي تطرق الشهيد الصدر كمقدمات للتفسير وتعدّ من أبحاثه في علوم القرآن. وأما عن منهجية هذا الكتاب فجاءت على النحو التالي: وضع الآيات حسب الترتيب القرآني، ما تمّ جمعه في هذا الكتاب ليس شاملاً لكل آيات القرآن، بل قد يرى القارئ بحثا مكملاً يرجع إلى جزء من الآية لا إلى جميعها بالمقدار الذي تعرّض له الشهيد الصدر. الكثير من الآيات التي تطرق إليها الصدر قد لا تحمل نصاً حرفياً للآية، بل تعطي فكرة عن مفهوم معيّن أو تعالج قضية من قضايا المسلمين المعاصرة.
