لا يختلف إثنان ، على أن موضوع بر الوالدين من أهم الموضوعات في الحياة الإنسانية ، ذلكم لأن مَن لا خير فيه لوالديه فلا خير فيه لأحد من الناس أجمعين . وقد أفرد موضوع بر الوالدين في جزء حديثي ، ومن أوائل هؤلاء أمير المؤمنين في الحديث أبو عبد الله محمد بن اسماعيل البخاري رحمه الله تعالى ، فقد صنّف فيه جزءاً أسماه " بر الوالدين " ، رواه عنه تلميذه إبن دِلُّويه ، وعنه أخذه الناس وانتشر بينهم لعدة قرون . وهذا الكتاب كما يشير الشارح له ، ينشر لأول مرة عن نسخته الفريدة بخزانة الحافظ السيد عبد الحي الكناني في طبعة جديدة مزيدة ومصححة ، وقد عمل المحقق الحمراوي على دراستها بعد نسبة الكتاب إلى مؤلفه وراويه وعرض نسخة توثيقية عن النسخة المعتمدة في التحقيق ، مع أحاديث كتاب " بر الوالدين " ورصد لدرجتها ونوعها ، وأحاديث أخرى في بر الوالدين يرويها الإمام البخاري ولم ترد في كتابه هذا ، ثم بحث في ما اتصل من أسانيد المحدثين لكتاب بر الوالدين مع اتصال محقق الجزء بهم ، وكلمة عن بعض معاني بر الوالدين ، وضابط العقوق ، وخلاصة عن موضوع بر الوالدين كما في كتب البخاري الثلاثة : الجامع الصحيح ، الأدب المفرد ، بر الوالدين ، وترجمة لكل من المؤلف والراوي .
من أحاديث كتاب بر الوالدين نذكر : " أي العمل أحب إلى الله تعالى ؟ " ، " حديث سعد : حلفت أمي أن لا تأكل ولا تشرب حتى أفارق محمداً صلى الله عليه وسلم ، فأنزل ... " ، " من أحق الناس بالصحبة ؟ قال : " أمك ، " ففيهما فجاهِد " ، " من أحب أن يبسط له في رزقه ... " ، " ثلاث دعواتٍ ، ... ودعوة الوالد على ولده " ، " ثلاثة لا يقبل الله منهم صَرفاً ولا عَدْلاً : عاقٌ ... " ( ... ) وغيرها من أحاديث .
