هذا الكتاب بين العقيدة والقيادة، يدل بلفظه على موضوعه، فالعنوان يدل على ما حواه الكتاب، وهو الصلة الوثيقة بين عقيدة القائد، وقيادته، وأن القيادة الرشيدة لا بد أن تدفعها عقيدة مؤمنة وقلب لم يركس في المعاصي، ونفس لم تدنس بالفسوق والإنحراف، وإرادة حازمة قوية ضابطة غير خاضعة لهوى يهوي بها، بل هي سيدة على النفس، حاكمة لها.
والكتاب دعوة للقادة، إلى أن يؤمنوا بالله تعالى، ورسله الأكرمين، وأن يكون لهم إيمان بالله، يعقدون العزم على الاستمساك بأمر الله تعالى ونهيه، وأن يكون للقائد مثل دنين عال يسمو إليه، ويتبعه جنده في إيمانه، كما يتبعون قيادته، وإنهم في هذه الحال يتبعونه رغباً لا رهباً، وتكون طاعتهم له نابعة من إيمان، ليكون لجهادهم معنى سام عال، ولا يكون قسراً وكرهاً، لمجرد النظام العسكري الملزم.
وأن القلوب المؤمنة هي التي تبتغي النصر، وتصل إليه، والله يؤيد بنصره من يشاء. فكل القادة الذين قادوا معارك الفتح كانوا من المؤمنين، كذلك الذين صدوا غارات المعتدين.. من هؤلاء القادة: أسد بن الفرات فاتج جزيرة صقلية، وصلاح الدين الأيوبي محرر القدس وقاهر الصليبيين، وقطز قاهر التتار، ومحمد الفاتح فاتح القسطنطينية.
