بعد مضيّ ستين سنة على تأسيس الحركة الإسلاميّة في سورية لم يدوَّن تاريخ هذه الحركة، وهو تاريخٌ غنيٌّ وهو مشرِّفٌ بآنٍ واحد.
لعلّ أهمّ ما كُتب في تاريخ الحركة السورية هو ما سطّره الدكتور مصطفى السباعي رحمه الله، سواءً في رسالته (الإخوان المسلمون في حرب فلسطين)، أم في آثاره الأدبية والعلمية والسياسية وخطبه ومحاضراته وندواته التي نُشر بعضُها أو كثرٌ منها، ولم ينشر بعضها الآخر.
أستعجل فأقول: لا أعلم شيئاً عن مذكّراته الشخصية، ولا أستبعد أن يكون قد دوَّنها ولم تصلنا بعد، هل كُتِب على السباعي أن يؤسِّس هذه الحركة ويقودها طوال حياته وأن يؤرِّخ وحده لها؟!...
لهذه الأسباب وغيرها أدعو نفسي وإخواني أبناء الحركة إلى الإسهام في الوفاء لهذه الحركة بتدوين تاريخها، أو في الأقلّ تدوين مذكّراتهم الشخصية فيها، فتكون مادةً خصبة لتدوين هذا التاريخ المظلوم من أبنائها أولاً.
