يتم التقديم بصورة مبسطة وبإسهاب لعلم الميكانيكا، حيث يبدأ بمقدمة عامة عن الفيزياء ودورها الرائد في التقدم العلمي عامة، كما تم طرح المفاهيم الأساسية للميكانيكا من حيث مناقشة الكميات الفيزيائية وتقسيمها إلى أساسية ومشتقة وأنظمة القياس والوحدات المختلفة، يدخل بعدها في عرض مفصل للمتجهات ودورها في الفيزياء.
في الأبواب اللاحقة تتم دراسة الحركة ومسبباتها والمعادلات والقوانين اللازمة لفهمها، ينتقل بعدها إلى موضوعي الشغل والطاقة وأهميتها ليس في الميكانيكا فحسب ولكن في الفيزياء بصفة عامة.
تم التركيز على التطبيقات الفيزيائية من خلال حل عدد كبير من الأمثلة لتوضيح المفاهيم الفيزيائية وتشريحها، كما أنه يحتوي على عدد كبير من الأسئلة والمسائل في نهاية كل فصل، لإعطاء القارئ فرصة لتوسيع مداركه وتعميق فهمه لمفاهيم هذا الفرع الكلاسيكي المهم من الفيزياء.
كما بذل جهد كبير لتجميع العديد من الثوابت الفيزيائية وجداول التحويل المختلفة والعلاقات الرياضية المهمة والشائعة الاستعمال والتي سيجدها القارئ عوناً له ليس في الميكانيكا فقط ولكن في غالبية العلوم الأخرى.
