يضم هذا الكتاب أوراق الحلقة النقاشية، التي أقامها قطاع الثقافة والفنون بوزارة الإعلام في مملكة البحرين، تحت عنوان "عبد الله الغذامي والممارسة النقدية والثقافية".
وقد أقيمت الحلقة، على مدى يومين في 5 و6 مايو 2001م، في متحف البحرين الوطني، وشارك فيها عشرة باحثين من البحرين ومنطقة الخليج العربي، وهم: د.عبد الله إبراهيم (جامعة قطر)؛ د.معجب الزهراني (جامعة الملك سعود)؛ د.منذر عياشي (جامعة البحرين)؛ نادر كاظم (ناقد من البحرين)؛ زهرة المذبوح (ناقدة وشاعرة من البحرين)؛ حسن المصطفى (كاتب من السعودية)؛ حسين السماهيجي (ناقد وشاعر من البحرين)؛ محمد البنكي (ناقد وكاتب من البحرين). علي الديري، ضياء الكعبي.
تتمحور فكرة الحلقة حول قراءة مشروع الدكتور عبد الله الغذامي [أستاذ النقد والنظرية بجامعة الملك سعود] في الممارسة النقدية والثقافية، وانتقاله من مرحلة الناقد الأدبي إلى مرحلة الناقد الثقافي. وتأتي هذه الندوة في أعقاب صدور كتاب الغذامي المثير "النقر الثقافي: قراءة في الأنساق الثقافية العربية 2000"، كما أصّل لهذه الفكرة نظرياً ومعرفياً وممارسة، وبقدر ما تحمله هذه الندوة من دلالات الاحتفاء بالغذامي ومشروعه المتفرد على مستوى منطقة الخليج والعالم العربي، فإنها تنطوي على دلالات أعمق فيما يتعلق بإيمان المشاركين بخطورة هذا المشروع وأهميته في الثقافة والنقد العربيين، وذلك بما يمثله هذا المشروع من تباشير الحسم مع التعاطي النصوصي الجمالاتي مع النصوص والأشكال الثقافية، وذهاب بذلك إلى أفق أعمق وأبعد في قراءة الأنساق الثقافية العربية التي تتلبس بالشعري والجمالي، وتلعب لعبتها به ومن خلاله، لترسخ في ذهنية الأمة ووجدانها الجمعي دونما مساءلة أو مراقبة.
