مما لا شك فيه أن عناية العلماء- في التصنيف حول موضوعات العقيدة كانت عناية كبيرة لا سيما في العصور التي أخذ الانحراف فيها يدب في صفوف الأمة مما جعل هؤلاء العلماء يهتمون بجمع الأحاديث الواردة في مجالات العقيدة المختلفة, وقاموا بالتعليق عليها حسب الحاجة, والرد على أهل البدع المخالفين في هذه المسألة أو تلك, وممن اهتم بنشر العقيدة الصافية في المجتمعات المسلمة, وحاول الرد على من يحاول إفساد عقائد أهل السنة مؤلف هذا الكتاب, وقد اقتصر في كتابه هذا على إيراد بعض الآيات والأحاديث والآثار عن الصحابة رضوان الله عليهم فيما كانوا يسألون عنه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من أمور العقيدة. وقصد بذلك الرد على مخالفيه من أهل البدع وغيرهم من خلال هذه النصوص. وهو في صنيعه هذا يمثل مذهب السلف أهل الحديث في إيراد الأدلة النقلية من الكتاب والسنة الصحيحة الدالة على المنهج الصحيح الذي يجب أن يسير عليه المسلم في حياته, وهذا المنهج هو الذي ينبغي أن يكون أصلاً لنا في الاستشهاد في دراستنا العقدية, وأن يكون هو الأصل في استنباط المنهج العقدي السليم لبناء التصور الشامل لأمور الاعتقاد, والمنهج الأقوم في الرد على أهل الزيغ والبدع بعيداً عن جدل المتكلمين,وأقيسة المنطقيين, وعقلانية المنحرفين.
المقدسي: هو تقي الدين أبو محمد عبد الغني بن عبد الواحد بن علي بن سرور بن رافع بن حسن بن جعفر المقدسي الجماعيلي ثم الدمشقي المنشأ الصالحي الحنبلي. ولد سنة 541 سافر الى بغداد في طلب العلم وكان من أهم تصانيفه: المصباح في عيون الأحاديث الصحاح, اليواقيت, الروض
