هذا الكتاب هو معجم يعرف ويؤرخ للصحف والدوريات التي أصدرها اللبنانيون في لبنان والخارج، فالتعريف بالدورية أو الصحيفة وفقاً لمنهج ذكر للعناصر المعلومات الخاصة بكل عنصر من هذه العناصر الثمانية، وهي: "اسم الدورية وعنوانها"، "تاريخ صدورها"، "اسم منشئ الدورية"، "مكان صدور الدورية"، "الإشارة إلى وجود مجموعتها"، "التنويه بالدورية عند صدورها"، "صدى صدور الصحيفة"، "رقم قرار الترخيص بالصدور".
