ها إنني قد جئت منكسراً، وروحي لا تحد، بغير روحك يا حبيبي، قد جئت... أحمل في يدي ضراعتي، وتوسلي بعظيم جاهك من ذنوبي، وعلى جبيني غربتي، فمتى يظلل غيمك القدسي صحراء الغريب؟ إني أحبك، مثلما من قبل، ما أحببت، أو من بعد، من خلق وطيب، وأحبك... امتثلت لحبك جند روحي، كامتثال العشب للغيث السكيب، يا سيدي! أنت البحيرة، والسراب قوفلي، وأنا العليل، وأنت من أبد طبيبي، أنت الذرى فوق الذرى... يا سيدي! وأنا خطى مهدودة.. تاهت دروبي، أنت النهى فوق النهى والمنتهى.. كم قد حباك الله علام الغيوب فلأجلك الأكوان تروى، لا تزال، بغيمة من قطر مبسمك الرطيب، ولأجلك الأقمار تجري، والكواكب، في مدى الفلك الرحيب، ولأجلك الأسماء، قد علمت لآدم كلها، في سرها المكتوب، فاقرأها علينا، باسم ربك كي تضيء بها دياجير القلوب، نامت، وقلبك لم ينم عنها لتدرأ ما يرف من الخطوب، قد جئت معترفاً... فهب لي نفحةً أنجو بها، مولاي، في اليوم الرهيب... ما جفت الصحف الكريمة في يدي، لكنها الدنيا كغانية لعوب، مولاي! هب لي منك منأى عن غوايتها، ومن وسواس رونقها الطروب، أنت القريب إذا ابتعدت، وما ابتعدت وأنت مني نبضة القلب القريب، هذي الحشود أتتك، مثلي، راعشات بالدموع، خذها إليك فإنها لذنوبك تخشى الرجوع، في ذكر مولدك الظهور تسابقت مهج الجموع، خذها إليك وشدها، يا سيدي، من ربقة اليأس الخنوع جاؤوك معتصمين بالحب المؤبد في الضلوع، جاؤوك إذ ظلموا، وما خابوا وقد وقفوا ببابك في خضوع، خذني إليك، بجاه نورك، علها تشفى الضلوع، خدني إليك، ومدني بسلام روحك، سيدي كي لا أضيع، قد جئت بحراً من خطايا قطرة من طيب روضك يا شفيع، صلى عليك الله في ملكوته صلت عليك، لأجلك الأكوان يا سيدي! وأمد قلبي للسلام، فمد كفك تنحني الأزمان، وغرقت في دمعي، وفائض ذلتي، وتملكت من نفسي الأشجان، يا سيدي! عادت بحيرة ساوة إيوان كسرى شيدوا أركانه، وتماجنت في غيها الأوثان، دار الزمان، ولم تدر أيامنا والجاهلية كأسها نشوان... في فيض نورك أحتمي من ظلمة الدنيا، وقد عميت بها الألوان... ها إنني قد جئت أحمل حيرتي، وعلى عيوني دمعها الهتان، هب للمتيم من لدنك شفاعة، حتى يجيبك بالرضا الرحمن".
