هذا البحث فقه الغنة يغوص في مسائل تجويد حرفين من حروف القرآن الكريم هما النون والميم، كثر ورودُهما فيه، وامتازا بصوت يخرج من الأنف يسمى الغنة، وهو صوت من كثرته وحسن وقعه في السمع كان من حلية التلاوة القرآنية. وغوصه هذا إنما كان لصغر حجم مجاله، ولجمعه ما أمكن جمعه من المراجع والنصوص، قاصدًا الاستقصاء قدر الطاقة، وراغبًا في الوصول إلى التحقيق في كثير من القضايا التي طال فيها الخلاف بين المعتنين بعلوم قراءة القرآن الكريم، وشاع فيها مسلَّمات يشير البحث إلى أنها لا تَسنُدها نصوص من كتب علوم القراءة أو علوم العربية، أو يشير إلى أن النصوص تدل على ما يخالفها، كتفخيم الغنة، وإخفاء الميم. فهو إذًا بحث في الدراية، والدراية كما هو معلوم الجناح الآخر لنقل القرآن الكريم مع جناح الرواية، وكلاهما لا بد منه، ولا غنى عنه.
