ثمانية كتاب شباب عرب لامعين حظوا باهتمام عالميّ واستحقّوا التعريف بهم عربياً وعالمياً. هذا الكتاب هو ثمرة الندوة التي أقامتها "الجائزة العالمية للرواية العربية" للكتاب الشبّان العرب. ويتضمّن خلاصة القصص أو الفصول من الروايات التي كُتبت ونوقشت. ثمانية كتاب تمّ اختيارهم من ضمن مئة وعشرين كاتباً عربياً قدّمت أعمالهم إلى الجائزة، خلال العامين 2008 و2009. ودعت "الجائزة العالمية للرواية العربية" كاتبين مكرّسين للإشراف على النقاشات وتقديم المزيد من المشورة الفردية والتشجيع: اللبناني جبور دويهي، والعراقية إنعام كجه جي. وكلاهما روائيان لهما تجربة واسعة، ويحظيان بالاحترام، وقد وصلت رواية كلٍّ منهما إلى القائمة القصيرة للجائزة العالمية للرواية العربية. امتدّت الندوة على مدّة تسعة أيام. وكان المشرفان يعقدان جلسةً فرديةً مع كل كاتب على حدة. ثم يجتمعون معاً ويستمعون إلى مشارك واحد منهم. وتتمّ مناقشة الكتابات وتقديم الملاحظات والنقد البنّاء. إنها تجربة غير اعتيادية لجميع المنخرطين بها، وتأمل مؤسّسة الجائزة العالمية للرواية العربية أن تجعل منها حدثاً سنوياً.
