منصب الإفتاء منصب عظيم الخطر، بعيد الأثر في حياة الفرد والأمة، ولعظم خطره تولاه الله بنفسه وصرح بذلك في محكم التنزيل وقام الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم بالإفتاء في حياته، وكان إفتاؤه من البيان للكتاب الذي وكله الله إليه.
والمفتون خلفاء الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم في منصب الإفتاء، لو خلت منهم الأرض لأصاب المسلمين ضرر كبير وشر مستطير.
وقد تنبه المؤلف إلى أهمية هذا الموضوع، فتناوله من جوانبه، معرفا ًبه، مبيناً حكمه، ذاكراً مجالات عمل المفتي، والمؤهلات والصفات التي ينبغي أ، يتصف بها، وغير ذلك من المباحث النافعة المفيدة.
