يصر الكثيرون على تفسير البداء بما لا يجوز على الله تعالى، تمسكاً بظاهر اللفظ، دون تدقيق ولا تدبّر، ثم ينسب القول به إلى الشيعة الإمامية، زوراً وبهتاناً، ثم يجعل ذلك ذريعة للطعن والتشنيع على هذا المذهب، بينما هم بريئون مما ينسب إليهم، والعجيب أن البعض تجاوز الحد فزعم أن علماء الإمامة يصرحون بإرادة هذا المعنى في كتبهم، ونحن نقطع أنه لم يقرأ كتبهم ولا اطلع على أقوالهم وعقائدهم من خلالها، فهم يصرّحون بخلاف ذلك ويجاهرون ببيان مرادهم من البداء الذي يقولون به وينسبونه إلى الله تعالى، والذي هو بعيد جداً عن المدعى، وليس فيه تعارض مع علم الله الأزلي، أو غيره من صفاته الذاتية.
في هذا البحث المختصر يعرض الباحث لمفهوم البداء الذي يقول به الشيعة وبيان حدوده، وموارده، وثمرات الاعتقاد به، وجذوره التاريخية، كما أنه سيعرض لمسألة أخرى مشابهة وهي مسألة النسخ في الأحكام، لشدة علاقتها بالبداء ومشابهتها له في المفهوم والمنشأ، وبذلك يتضح المراد لمن رام الرشاد، وينقشع الضباب الذي خلفته الحملات العجيبة والضجة المفتعلة في هذه المسألة.
